Nature conservation

Strategic analysis and careful assessment of habitats and natural areas are the basis for our commitment to providing appropriate environmental solutions. Our broad-based team of wildlife experts and GIS analysts carry out comprehensive assessments and actively participate in initiatives aimed at the strategic conservation of vulnerable habitats and species. We provide customized solutions using sustainable practices that not only ensure regulatory compliance but also contribute to the conservation of ecosystems and ecosystem services.

Our services:

  • Development of Environmental Management Plans: We develop detailed environmental management plans for the protection of endangered species in the natural environment or for the implementation of large-scale projects.
  • Biodiversity Assessments and Monitoring: Comprehensive surveys to assess the variety and abundance of plant and animal species in a given area and long term monitoring of population or faunistical communities.
  • FFH and Natura 2000 monitoring: In accordance with the European habitats directives Flora Fauna Habitat (FFH) and Natura 2000, we conduct presence monitoring of species and detailed monitoring of rare birds, mammals and insects and other invertebrate species in many European countries.
  • Municipal biodiversity solutions:  We support cities and municipalities in the planning and implementation of municipal biodiversity strategies (KBS), e.g. in the Federal Programme Biodiversity - Urban Nature of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUV).
  • Habitat Mapping and Landscape Analysis: Detailed mapping of different habitats to understand their structure, functions, and relationships, aiding in conservation planning and development strategies.
  • Endangered Species protection: Risk assessment of endangered species, including monitoring, habitat evaluation resulting in recommendations for conservation measures.
  • Wildlife Corridor Design: Design and analysis of wildlife corridors to promote connectivity between fragmented habitats and enhance species movement.
  • Pollinator Habitat Assessments: Evaluation and enhancement of habitats that are important for pollinators such as bees, hoverflies and butterflies, as well as impact analyses.
  • Invasive Species Management: Strategies for identifying, controlling, and mitigating the impact of invasive species on native ecosystems.
  • Ecotourism Impact: Assessing the impact of ecotourism on local ecosystems and providing recommendations for sustainable tourism practices.
  • River and Stream Health Assessments: Evaluating the health of aquatic ecosystems, including water quality, fish populations, and riparian zones.
  • Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments: Identifying vulnerabilities and developing adaptation strategies for ecosystems in the face of climate change.
