Environmental Scientist – Crop Protection (m, f, d)

Full-time / permanent contract

Role and Responsibilities

As a part of a project team, you will:

  • Evaluate E-Fate study reports and prepare data gap analyses for the authorization of Plant Protection Products (PPP)
  • Prepare registration dossiers for PPP authorizations and active substance submissions in cooperation with different scientific disciplines
  • Coordinate relevant GLP studies
  • Contribute to the approval or renewal of actives substances, according to the EU regulatory framework EC Regulation 1107/2009
  • Manage client projects in close communication and cooperation with our regulatory team, our clients and relevant authorities

Profile and Qualifications

  • University degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in agricultural science, environmental or life science, chemistry, biology or related disciplines
  • Relevant working experience of at least 5 years
  • An additional asset would be experience in EU and member state exposure modelling
  • You have a scientific background with skills in Agriculture and Chemistry
  • Profound knowledge of relevant EU guidelines and guidance documents on PPP
  • Strongly motivated with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify difficult tasks; present complex data in a comprehensive way
  • Self-sustained way of working and motivation to explore new fields with a high degree of flexibility
  • Capability to work in a team and willingness to constantly keep your knowledge up-to-date
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken and written); German language skills would be an asset, but not mandatory

During the field season of our ecotoxicological studies we constantly need the support of field biologists. If you have (or still seek) a degree (B.Sc., M.Sc.) in Biology, Agriculture or any related subject and you are interested in working in an international team, this might be an opportunity for you!

Conditions and Tasks

  • Short-term assignments from 2 weeks up to 6 months (from Feb./Mar. to Sep./Oct.) throughout the EU
  • Work in teams of 2 to 20 people (depending on the study type)
  • Field work requires team players with high degree of flexibility, sometimes working in shifts and/or at night
  • Willingness to work outdoors in difficult and changing weather conditions
  • Shared accommodation in simple housing
  • Good knowledge of English required
  • Driving license required
